Description

The documentary film, “LIFE -The Untold Story of the Fukushima Evacuation Zone-”

The film is about a family who lives in the coastal area of Fukushima, which was greatly damaged by the tsunami and became a

mandatory evacuation zone due to the radioactive contamination after the explosion at the Daiichi (No.1) Nuclear Power Plant. However, the family refused to evacuate in order to keep searching for their two missing children, who had disappeared after the tsunami. Chiaki spent six years documenting this family in order to report truthfully their difficulties. Recently, this film was screened at the NY Peace Film Festival, and HACO Gallery hosted a director’s talk to support and take a part in delivering the untold truth of the disaster..
