In-Person Workshop at Docs In Progress

How do you develop a budget? What are the elements that go into each line item? Reminder, as a filmmaker you have value and thus you need to be a line item. This hands-on workshop will introduce you to how best develop a budget that meet your funders requests, creative objectives and personal needs i.e. rent and food money. In this interactive exercise, participants can come with their laptop loaded with either Excel or Google Sheets software and start to build their budget.

About the Teaching Artist: Barbara Valentino

Barbara Valentino is the CEO of Docs In Progress and the President of Evolving Communications. With a master’s degree in Public Administration and a focus on budgeting and finance from The George Washington University, Barbara has a deep understanding of the financial aspects of video production and organizational management. Her extensive experience in developing and managing budgets for numerous video productions and organizational budgets makes her the perfect instructor for anyone looking to learn about the financial side of film and video productions.

Withdrawal 30 or more calendar days before the first day of a program: 75% refund

Withdrawal 11-29 calendar days before the first day of a program: 50% refund

Withdrawal 10 or fewer calendar days before a program: No refund
