DOCS GOT TALENT @ Theater at North May 6, 2017
Sat, May 6, 2017, 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM EDT
Join us for our premiere fundraising event Docs Got Talent! The proceeds of this event will benefit three worthwhile community agences that serve NEPA: VNA, Lonakana, Hope for Veterans check them out below:
VNA Hospice & Home Health of Lackawanna County and Surrounding Communities has been serving NEPA since 1895. Besides exceptional home care, VNA goes above and beyond caring for their patients and families. VNA has at times stepped up to provide the basic needs and wishes like a safe heat source when a patient's furnace brokedown or by hiring a videographer to create a video of a young mother as she wanted it to be left for her two year old daughter (just to share a few).
Lonakana Retreat Center (Waymart) is a vision that is currently fulfilled through a B&B in Forest City. It offers a free respite stay for women battling cancer. The retreat center will expand this offering and encompass multiple cabins on a beautiful, scenic setting in Waymart. It will also offer stays for children dealing with cancer as well.
Hope for Veterans has a mission to end homelessness amongst our military men and women by helping veterans and their families overcome mental illness, addiction, and poverty by providing housing and support services.
Look them up on Facebook or their individual web sites for more information.
The variety show is going to be absolutely fun and entertaining. We have 'Docs" of all sorts participating with a variety of talents of course e.g. ballroom dancing, bands, instrumentalists, karate demo, and so much more.
Happy hour is from 6-7 with tasty hors d'oeuvres, silent and basket auction, art gallery displaying the creative talent of our Docs, entertainment and who knows what else... And then the variety show begins at 7. We will honor our military branches and hear personal writings from a few who have served and are involved in the healing work of Warrior Writers that meets at the Dietrich Theater in Tunkhannock.
We will have a house band with featured members Bret Alexander and Eddie Appnel (Google them for their accolades) and last but never least our Emcee for the night is Fr. Sica!
See you there and be sure to spread the word! Would love to have a sell out event!
