"Do the Dance" Launch Party
Tue, February 21, 2017, 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM PST
Help us launch this uniquely Sacramento documentary in style. This story deserves a national audience, but it starts with Sacramento support.
“Do the Dance” is a 60-minute documentary exploring the historic Sacramento stripclub indecency trial that made national headlines during the summer of 1969 when Judge Earl Warren Jr. ordered the dancer "do the dance" to help the jury decide whether her full-nude routine was indecent. The project also uses this precedent-setting trial to explore the modern free expression movement, including burlesque, and visits the sexy side of Portland, the per capita strip club capital of America.
This one-time-only evening will include the premiere of our preview trailer, a chance to meet Judge Earl Warren Jr, an auction of "free expression" art and burlesque performances from the Midtown Moxies and headliner Ivizia, the reigning Miss Oregon Exotic.
