Do I need a permit for that? Navigating what you do and don't need a permit from the city to do can be tricky. That's why Brick + Beam Detroit partnered with the City of Detroit Building, Safety Engineering and Environmental Department (BSEED) to create a handy, printable guide to figure out whether you need a permit to work on your property, whether you're DIY'ing the job or working with a contractor.

The printable guide is available now on our website, but we want to walk you through it in person (and celebrate its existence!). Representatives from BSEED will be on hand to answer any of your questions IRL.
