Description

While it is difficult to accurately quantify the number of children currently victimized through child sex trafficking, Texas has the second highest number of calls to the National Human Trafficking Resource Center. One in six reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) were likely the victims of sex trafficking, and 86% of those victims were in the care of social services or foster care when they went missing.

NCMEC is committed to preventing child sexual exploitation and trafficking, both online and offline. This presentation will aid participants in identifying vulnerable youth, indicators of child sex trafficking, lures traffickers use to groom and recruit victims, and resources available resources for preventing foster care to commercial sex trade pipeline.
