DLSPH Public Health Alumni Association's AGM with C.P. Shah Award Winner:
Dr. Joanna Cohen, 'What Will it Take to End the Tobacco Epidemic?'
All are welcome to join the Public Health Alumni Association (PHAA) at the Annual General Meeting and the C.P. Shah Alumni Award of Excellence presentation to a graduate who has significantly advanced population health in Canada.
This is an opportunity to meet DLSPH alumni and learn about the exciting initiatives and events that the PHAA Board leads throughout the year.
Join the PHAA on November 16 to connect with your fellow alumni and learn from the C.P. Shah Alumni Award recipient. The 2016 Dr. Shah Award recipient is Dr. Joanna Cohen, Bloomberg Professor of Disease Prevention and the Director of the Institute for Global Tobacco Control at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She also holds an appointment at DLSPH.
Dr. Cohen will speak about Studying the Disease Vector to Bring an End to the Tobacco Epidemic and will present findings from studies of cigarette packs in 16 countries, including Canada, that are being used to inform and evaluate tobacco control policy interventions.
Please extend the invitation to other alumni who will be in the Toronto area and may wish to attend. For more information, visit our website or email us at Public.Health@alumni.utoronto.ca.
We look forward to seeing you there!
