NOTICE:

This training is open to both QSLA and Non-QSLA participants. If you would like to attend the training and are a Non-QSLA participant, there is a fee of $75 for a full day (6 hour) training.

Please select the Non-QLSA ticket and there will be a prompt for paymet.

This training is still free to all QSLA providers.

Participants will have learned more about:

Participants will explore the benefits of bilingualism and the importance of supporting young dual language learners in ECE classrooms. Through lecture, discussions, and hands-on activities participants will examine the stages of second language acquisition and how to support young children in each of these stages using developmentally appropriate practices. Participants will learn about diversity constructs and examine their own attitudes, biases, and impacts on direct provision of services to diverse populations. Additionally, participants will review the importance of providing families with the tools to support young children in their home environment and build partnerships with families to support home language and cultural continuity in their programs.
