Interested in performing research in evolving areas that will improve Warfighter support in the logistics supply chains? This event is for you! An excellent opportunity to discuss ideas with program managers and receive information on current and future projects emphasizing:
• Strategic Focus. Understanding disruptive technologies, game changing, reliable, agile, and cost effective solutions
• Strong Partnerships. Leveraging and sustaining relationships that help meet immediate and long-term Warfighter and DoD needs
• Modernization Efforts. Learn revolutionary approaches in industry and academia and what is required to keep DLA as the forward leader in Warfighter support
• Emerging Needs. Identifying advanced technologies which function in austere environments, automate in distribution operations, and additive manufacturing on large and small scale products
The Research and Development (R&D) Division of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is pleased to host the 4th Annual R&D Industry Day. The event will be held at the DLA Auditorium at the DLA Headquarters' Andrew T. McNamara Building (8725 John J. Kingman Road, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060) on 7 November 2019 from 0800 until 1400. Registration and admittance to DLA will begin at 0700.
The event is intended for companies and academia interested in performing research in emerging areas that will improve support to the Warfighter in the logistics supply chains. During the Industry Day the Government will make presentations on strategic objectives and opportunities to support those objectives. Information on the R&D programs will be provided as well as an opportunity to speak with R&D program managers.
Please note that the government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their travel or participation in this event.

**Due to the increased scale of the event from last year, DLA Security requires several pieces of additional information in order to expedite the security screening process. You will need to provide the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number, Date of Birth and Full Name. You can expect pre-registration information the week of October 14. Final date to register is October 25, 2019.
**Does NOT apply to retired military, all needed is retirement ID or CAC.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Yes, a Common Access Card (CAC) or government-issued ID is required for entrance into the DLA facility. CAC-holders process through the left side of security. Non-CAC-holders process through the visitor's side of security and must sign-in at the DLA security desk. Representatives from R&D will be available to assist attendees with locating the event.
Are you a Non-US Citizen (e.g. foreign national)?
Please be aware that per DLA Security guidance for this event, Non-US Citizens (e.g. foreign national) are not eligible to attend.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Visitors may park in any unassigned space in the DLA parking lot once they have gone through installation security.
Is there a limit to the number of attendees my organization can send?
Attendance is limited to two representatives per organization. However, R&D reserves the right to limit attendance for each organization due to space concerns. Please note that the government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their travel or participation in this event. DLA R&D reserves the right to deny attendance by any registrants.
I just registered. Now what?
You are approved to attend the event. R&D will provide a reminder email a few weeks prior to the event with additional details (for instance, an updated agenda) as necessary.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
No, tickets and/or registration are not transferrable. Attendees that have not registered or attempt to use another's registration will be denied entry. If your plans change and you are unable to attend, please update your registration on the site or inform the POC.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, until the registration closing date, October 25, 2019. After October 18, no changes to registration or attendee information will be permitted. DLA R&D reserves the right to deny entry to any prospective attendee and prior registration does not guarantee admittance.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
No. The Attendee must have a matching registration and ticket. DLA security must vet all registrants before allowing entry to government facilities.
Where do I go after entry into the DLA main building?
The DLA Auditorium is located on the Lower Level. However, an escort should be available to help guide you to the location.
What should I hope to get out of this Industry Day?
A clearer understanding of the Agency's process for issuing Broad Agency Announcements, R&D-specific strategic priorities, guidance on conducting business with DLA, especially for small businesses, and an opportunity to connect with industry leaders in your relevant research and development field.
