Description

Learn how to build your own worm farm.

Who: This workshop is open to the public. All ages welcome, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

What: Learn how to:
>> Build a worm farm from using materials available at your 99cent store or scrounged in your garage.

>> Select the best worms for composting food scraps.

>> What to feed your worms and how to care for them.

>> Common problems that might arise in your worm farm and how to prevent or solve them

Why: Food waste is a valuable resource that can be reclaimed to improve your garden, potted plants, or community trees. When we send food waste to landfill, it generates methane that contributes to green house gases and global warming. You can your part by keeping a small worm farm to epicycle food waste and create a rich soil amendment.

Fee: $20 per person
. Fee includes raffle 1 raffle ticket per participant.

FREE to Compost Academy participants.

Raffle: 2 DIY worm bins will be raffled at the end of class. Raffle tickets free to all class participants

How: Class size limited to 15. Please register in advance to reserve your spot at this workshop.
