DIY Terrarium Workshop
Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM (PST)
Redwood City, CA
Description: This is the perfect workshop to take with a friend! Come for a fun, relaxing hands-on workshop, where Brandi of Sunshine & Succulents will teach you to design with and care for succulents. We'll discuss what succulents are, how to take care of them (it's easy!), and how to propagate them. Then, after a quick demonstration, you'll get to pick out your succulents and make your very own glass orb terrarium. Brandi will be there to give you design advice and hands-on help along the way. You'll practically be a terrarium guru by the time you leave! Light food and beverages will be served.
A $15 materials fee will be due at the time of the class which includes all of the supplies in Brandi's DIY Succulent Terrarium Kit.
Instructor: Sunshine & Succulents was founded in November 2012 by Brandi Chalker. Brandi's love of succulents stems from her long-time residence in San Francisco's Outer Sunset neighborhood, which is full of wonderous succulents both large and small that thrive with minimal care and survive the harsh ocean winds, sandy soil, and fog.
Her obsession began about 4 years ago when she started growing succulents from cuttings. She then opened a gift shop in 2010 and began selling her terrariums and dish gardens there, as well as teaching terrarium-making workshops. Brandi's terrariums have been featured on TV on ABC7, and she has taught workshops for companies like AirBnB and at world-class institutions like the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers.
