This is a hands on class where you will learn from Maricel how to make a simple and tasty empanada dough as well as several delicious fillings. We will start with two simple doughs, one for fried empenadas and the other for baked emepnadas. We will then move on to the fillings for Chicken Empanadas, Pulled Pork Empanadas, and a Filipino Empanada. We will finish the class with a dessert Empanada. Maricel's Kitchen specializes in group and private cooking lessons, catering, and special events. Our specialty is Asian Cuisine, but you will find we are equally versed in cuisines form around the world.

About Maricel

I have a passion for cooking and Asian food and I love to share that passion with others. I learned to cook at a young age from my grandmother. I am a graduate of University of Santo Tomas and the NY Restaurant School and have 25+ years profesional resturant and food service experience.

My passion for food really started young and growing up in the Philippines meant fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, trips to the market for meats and fish. My grandmother taught me the essence of food is and what makes it so important in our lives. The Philippines is the crossroads of asian cuisine and infused with flavors from all over the world and together I love exploring those flavors with my friends. Come cook with me.
