Marquette University Opus College of Engineering is pleased to offer our summer Engineering Institutes. These half-day weeklong programs offer participants a unique glimpse into a particular realm of engineering with hands-on lab activities, fields trips and interactions with leaders of industry and academia.



Introduction to Biomedical Engineering: DIY Electrocardiograph (ECG)

Age range: Entering 8th - 10th grade

Instructor: Dr. Tanya Onushko

Dates: Monday July 23rd - Friday July 27, 9:30am - 12:30pm


This course is intended for students interested in learning about basic engineering principles and how to apply them in a fun, hands-on environment by creating their own medical device. Students will learn about human physiology, basic programming and circuitry principles, and apply it by recording electrical activity of their heart! At the end of the course, students will get to keep all of their materials. Students will also be given instructions on other fun projects they can try at home.
