Event description

Description

It's a Monterey Cowboy Festival pre-party at the Lab with Dixie Dixon and Her Cowboy Band on Friday, December 1st!

Dixie's band consists of Steve Mortensen (guitarist extraordinaire), bard Taelen Thomas (the Lingo Kid, who will weave the wonderful poetry with the music), and campfire harmonica outlaw song-singer Richard Rosen.

The group will present a mixture of traditional western music (Gene Autry/Roy Rogers), cowboy blues and a bit of western swing (Cindy Walker).

The Lab is located at 3728 The Barnyard, Suite G-23 in Carmel, right above Carmel Valley Roasters.

Dixie hails from Utah where she was a real cowgirl for many years as a ranch owner who owned a small herd of her own cows. Taelen Thomas is a local actor and orator, well known for his portrayals of Dylan Thomas, John Steinbeck, Jack London and other notables.

Richard is a retired criminal defense attorney and now spends most of his spare time making music. Steve has been a musician and music lover all of his life and has performed locally in the Dylan and Dylan show and many others.

Dixie's band may be joined by a surprise guest or two! Great camaraderie is in store from those attending and special “cowboy/cowgirl” drinks* will be available for purchase.

Tickets will also be available at the door.

And there you have!

We look forward to seeing you on Dec. 1st for a memorable evening full of cowboy stories, songs, and much more!

* Cowboy cocktails may include the Cowboy Cosmo, the Stumbling Cowboy, or the fabled Texas Sunrise.
