Description

Pirates of Penzance

Pirates of Penzance is a Gilbert and Sullivan comedic musical masterpiece! This uproarious production ran for 363 performances, when it first debuted in London in 1880. It was the show which introduced the much-parodied "Major-General's Song".

The performance focuses around a young man finishing his 21st year as an apprentice to pirates, only to discover he was born on the 29th of February… meaning he has a birthday only once each leap year. The wacky story ensuing from this plot twist, the beautiful music score, and rapid fire vocal patter will keep you on the edge of your seats and rolling in the aisles. This is a show the entire family will adore.

Pirates of Penzance is one of the most frequently played Gilbert and Sullivan productions.

ISM Canada is proud to be the 2018-2019 season sponsor of Do it With Class Young People’s Theatre.
