Program Description:

Join Armando Zumaya as we discover simple tactics to design donor diversity plans for your development team. This session will explore techniques to identify diverse circles of influence among your donors and prospects while explaining how to test new donor prospecting campaigns at all levels: annual, online events, and major giving. Plan to review real case studies of comprehensive diversity in philanthropy success stories! You will walk away with simple tactics to actively help your development team do the crucial work of recruiting and retaining diverse staff, board members, and donors.

About the Speaker:

Armando Zumaya hates being called a “thought leader”. He says it sounds too Orwellian. He’d much prefer to be called a “fundraising mutant” and “that guy who says all things we want to say but can’t”.

He is one of the few people in the nation talking about a range of subjects seldom raised:

  • The historic lack of diversity in nonprofits and especially in our donors. And what exactly to do about it.

  • The power of fundraising and having pride in the fundraising profession

  • Classic mistakes nonprofit leadership makes in fundraising and what to do.

  • Latino Major Giving

  • Cold Calling, Getting the First Appointment with a Prospect

He draws on his 32 years experience in a variety of roles that have given him a unique perspective on development offices, prospecting, and role of prospect research/management. He is currently an active Vice President of Development.
