In today's highly competitive, global economy - D&I matters now more than ever before. Particularly as the global market place expands, with revenue streams from new and emerging markets, the importance of D&I will increase. As such, many traditional U.S. domestic policies, practices and behaviors will become barriers to future success.

Over the past several decades, ongoing conversations around Diversity & Inclusion (i.e., D&I) have often been problematic as well as sometimes confusing. Additionally, despite the more current approach of D&I being focused around the "Business Case" for Diversity,” often the organizational mentality drifts back to a more compliance attitude (i.e., commonly referred to as the Civil Rights - aka Affirmative Action).

That was then and this is now.

In a global economy - innovation and creativity will become increasingly important with a need for having a diverse workforce. Diversity and Inclusion are truly cornerstones to growth and development and should be embraced as a business strategy - not simply as an HR program.
