Setting Down Roots: Group Therapists Reflect on Immigration

“Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.” - Franklin D. Roosevelt

The Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Committee will host a timely evening discussion surrounding the complexities of immigration as it applies to ourselves as group therapists, our communities, and our groups. The dialogue will begin with reflections on our own immigration stories, as well as ways that conversations about immigration do and do not arise in our groups. We will spend time in small groups discussing recent developments in US immigration policy and consider the intersection of our personal, professional, and political selves around issues involving human rights.

Non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks will be offered.

Charge: There is no charge for this event.

Note: All therapists and students in the therapy field are welcome.
