Event description

Description

This month we will discuss the challenges working households face at jobs that pay minimum wage and what we can do as a community to address these issues. Tiffany Bailey, Vice President of Community Impact of United Way of Allen County, will be leading our discussion on the obstacles that exist when minimum wage isn’t a living wage.

We will explore the actual cost of living versus minimum wage income, discuss what 'tipped' minimum wage is and review local statistics about these jobs and the characteristics of minimum wage workers. Participants will be able to learn through discussion and hands on activities about the difficult choices being made when living on a survival budget.
