Learning Objectives:

Explain the historical context of ethics and the history of social work

Define the impact of the development of the National Association of Social Work Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics

Define general terms in ethic and diversity; such as ethics, morality, ethical dilemmas, ethical principles and more

Define and demonstrate the effect of diversity and multiculturalism ethical issues

Demonstrate the ability to infuse diversity into ones ethical decision making as a practicing Social Worker. 

 Course Schedule

8:30 am Introduction

9am-10:45am

         Discuss the historical context of ethics in social work and the development  of the  National                                      Association of Social Work Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics

         Modernism vs Postmodernism

         Ethical Theory and Decision Making

         Development of the Codes of Ethics

(Break)10:45-11am

11am-12:30pm

Define general terms in ethic;

How the definition changes our perspectives and learning why they are important.

Discuss the fullness of the diversity and multiculturalism ethical issues

Who do we serve

Purpose of understanding diversity and the ethical issues of assumptions

(Lunch Break 12:30-1:30pm)

1:30-3:00pm

Demonstrate the ability to infuse diversity into ones ethical decision making as a practicing Social Worker. 

Activities: Interpreting scenarios using awareness

Creating and Ethical decision

Evaluating opposing values

Implementing Action Plan

Refund policy: Full refund will be provided 14 days before program.  A $10 administrative charge will be deducted from requested after that time.  No refund will be given within 72 hours of program or “no shows.”

Certificates will be awarded via-email after completion of full training and course evaluation. (If we cannot read your information on the sign-in sheet, your certificate will not be sent)

 

This organization Radiant Sunshine ACE  Approval Number #1403 is approved as a   provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program. The   Radiant Sunshine maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: (March 2016– Feb 2017). Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits.

  

Social workers participating in this course will receive (6 CEUs) ( Ethics) continuing education clock hours.”

 

 Certificates will be awarded after the training for full attendance and completion of the course evaluation.

 

Please note these credits are accepted for Social Work:
Radiant Sunshine has been designated as a ACE provider of professional continuing education for social workers, NJ Social Workers please be aware that not pre approval of course may be needed call your state licensing  
board to verify CEU's approval. 

 

Most MFT, LPC and other counseling professions can use ACE Providers because it is the Association of Social Work Board, please review your continuing education requirements and/or contact your state board.

Sharea Farmer, LCSW

 

 As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker; Radiant Sunshine's owner, Sharea has translated many of her skills into  developing a company with the goal of supporting, maintaining and improving individuals, non-profits and other human service agencies.  She is a graduate from  Rider University with a B.A. in Sociology and has completed her Masters in Social Work at Rutgers University; where she is     currently an adjunct professor in the graduate level department of social work.
