For CFO’s, the ability to articulate and champion the value of diversity & inclusion within their teams and across the organization will drive business value. Research shows that companies in the top quartile for gender, and ethnic, diversity respectively outperform their competitors by 15% and 35%. Make plans to join us for Diversity and Inclusion in Practice,” where our speakers will discuss how companies are working to build and support diverse teams and leaders internally.

Our speakers will discuss practical tips on fostering employee resource groups, implementing sponsorship and developing partnerships with customers. They will also discuss how they have used training on unconscious bias and prevention of discrimination to increase awareness of the importance of diversity - and inclusion. We will also provide an update on employers’ responsibilities under recently enacted laws, such as New Jersey’s Equal Pay Act and New York City’s Stop Sexual Harassment Act.

Learning Objectives

Through this session, attendees will learn:

  • How diversity and inclusion can drive revenue, motivate employees, and foster innovation

  • Strategies to influence increased diversity and inclusion across the broader organization, including vendor and Board relationships

  • The importance of building a diverse customer/ client base

  • Updates on employers’ responsibilities under recently enacted laws, such as New Jersey’s Equal Pay Act and New York City’s Stop Sexual Harassment Act

About Our Speakers

Lynne Anderson, Partner, Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP

Lynne Anderson, a partner at Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP, is an experienced trial lawyer who has handled a wide range of employment litigation including retaliation/whistleblower, discrimination and harassment claims, as well as restrictive covenant disputes and wage and hour audits and class actions. Clients also trust Lynne to provide strategic advice and counsel them through the ever-growing maze of employment laws. Lynne serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Gender and Pay Equity team.

Lynne has repeatedly been recognized by Chambers USA as one of America’s leading lawyers for business, and by Best Lawyers in America. She has also been listed in New Jersey Super Lawyers since 2005, and as one of the Top 50 Women Attorneys in the state. Lynne serves as Co-Chair of her firm’s Women’s Leadership Committee, and works closely with the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She is also a founding member of BioNJ’s Women of Stem, and a Past President of New Jersey Women Lawyers Association. She is a Board member, and past Board Chair, of NJ LEEP, a program that provides after-school, weekend and summer educational programming to underserved high school students in Newark for the purposes of achieving enrollment in 4 year colleges and universities.

Rodney Johnson, Divisional Vice President of Culture and Inclusion, AJG

Rodney joined Gallagher in 2015 as an Area Vice President responsible for generating new business development and assisting Public Entity and Construction clients with their risk management and insurance needs. In 2017, he was promoted to Divisional Vice President of Culture and Inclusion for the Gallagher Global Brokerage US division working to implement Gallagher Connect Partners and to assist with enterprise-wide culture and inclusion strategies. He supports the growth and success of minority and woman-owned businesses by increasing their access to insurance markets and innovative solutions.

Seth Rosenstein, CFO, Independent Consultant

Mr. Seth Rosenstein is an award winning, senior financial and business operations leader with more than 25 years of experience working for major global blue chip organizations such as the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Polo Ralph Lauren. Mr. Rosenstein is currently self-employed as an Independent Consultant with several clients in the New York Metropolitan area focusing on strategic financial and business operations with an emphasis on Corporate Development, Growth and Mergers and Acquisitions.

Recent accomplishments include:

  • Acquired two public relations agencies; Cutler PR on behalf of Kite Hill PR (2018) and Templars PR (UK) on behalf of Vested (2017.
  • Led the sale of two mid-sized public relations agencies; ABI Marketing (2017) and The Horn Group (2015) to Finn Partners.

Previously, Mr. Rosenstein has worked at MWW Group, one of the nation’s largest independent public relations firms as EVP, Chief Financial Officer from 2004-2009 and again from 2010-2015. Under his purview, Mr. Rosenstein was responsible for oversight of all business operations areas including finance, human resources, IT and administration. During Mr. Rosenstein’s tenure at MWW, he spearheaded 7 acquisitions between 2012 and 2014; 5 in the US and 2 in the UK.

As Senior Director of Finance at Polo Ralph Lauren from 2003-2004, he managed all of the strategic planning and budgeting activities for the brand's global licensing business as well as the buy-back of the Childrenswear License.

In addition, Mr. Rosenstein served as a Director of Finance and Controller at NBA Properties, Inc. He provided financial leadership for the start-up of several of the league's high profile strategic business units, including the Women's NBA (WNBA) and the NBA Development League (NBDL).

Mr. Rosenstein is a 3-time Alumni from Fairleigh Dickinson University with 2 Master’s Degrees and a Bachelor’s Degree. Mr. Rosenstein has served the University for the past 9 years as an active member of the Alumni Board of Governors and also serves as an Adjunct Instructor at FDU and Felician College. Mr. Rosenstein resides in Morris County, NJ with his wife and 2 children.

Autumn Spehar, MOD, PMP, Director, Human Resources, Stout

Autumn Spehar is a Director within the Human Resources department. In this role, she supports the strategic goals of the firm through the development and implementation of people processes; including employee learning and development, performance management, and leadership development. Ms. Spehar is an experienced organizational development professional with a passion for building bridges between people, business and technology.

Prior to joining Stout, Ms. Spehar was a Talent & Organizational Performance Consultant with Accenture where she was responsible for assisting clients with strategic change management initiatives related to technology integration, process improvement and organizational change. Ms. Spehar also previously served as Special Projects Coordinator within Stout’s Operations group where she was involved in the planning and implementation of business critical projects.
