On February 22nd-23rd, the Stan Richards School (SRS) of Advertising & Public Relations at the University of Texas at Austin will host a conference dedicated to diversity and inclusion. Our goal is to bring the best and the brightest together to share their experiences and ideas related to how the industry can more aggressively move forward. We'd be honored if you would join us!

We have curated five sessions that explore the diverse realities of today’s industry leaders and thinkers. The sessions will be hosted in the Moody College of Communication Belo Center for New Media (BMC) at 300 West Dean Keeton Street. This event is co-sponsored by the Moody College Honors Program.

Keynote - February 22, 6 p.m. in BMC 1.202

Entrepreneurial Women

Carol H. Williams of Carol H. Williams Advertising will lead our keynote panel of enterprising women, including Krystle Loyland co-founder of Preacher and Jane Claire Hervey founder of #bossbabesATX. There will be time reserved for audience questions and comments.

8:45 a.m. Opening Remarks

9 to 10:15 a.m. Race and Ethnicity

This panel will explore the intersectionality of race and gender in the workplace. Panelists are Sandra Sims-Williams, Chief Diversity Officer of Publicis Groupe; Tony Dieste, Founder of Dieste Inc.; Shanteka Sigers, Executive Creative Director and Brand Strategist at Sanders\Wingo; and Audrey Ponzio, Founder of APC of Collective.

Break 10:15 to 10:30 a.m.

10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Inclusive Representation in the Media

Enviromedia CEO and founder Val Davis will lead this panel on the need for inclusive representation in the media and will be joined by an all-star team of leaders to discuss this topic.

11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Complimentary Box Lunches will be provided.

12:45 to 2 p.m. LGBTQ+ Inclusivity

This panel will discuss LGBTQ+ experiences in the workplace and the steps needed to cultivate a more inclusive professional atmosphere. Panelists are Val Davis, CEO and Founder of Enviromedia; Janet Lea, Special Projects at Sherry Matthews Advocacy Group; and Kyle Nguyen, Media Planner at GSD&M.

Break 2 to 2:15 p.m.

2:15 to 3:30 p.m. A Family-Friendly Workplace

This panel will discuss that elusive balance between the workplace and family life. Panelists are Steven Darby, Creative Director at Heavy Heavy; and Courtney Skarda, Former VP of Racker Experience at Rackspace.

3:30 p.m. Closing remarks
