Event description

Description

This District Improvement Financing (DIF) workshop is open to public and private sector participants at any stage in the process of establishing or managing a DIF district. The workshop will provide methods for assessing the appropriateness of the DIF tool to local conditions and to advancing local economic development goals. Presenters will explain how a DIF works, what can be funded by a DIF, and will highlight complementary economic development tools and incentives. The event will also provide an overview to the process of establishing a DIF, from guidance on how to start a community engagement campaign to what happens after a DIF passes.

The workshop will be led by Camoin 310, a nationally-recognized economic development consulting firm that has been working with MassDevelopment on our soon to be released DIF Guide. The workshop will be held at Quincy City Hall, located next to a green space recently cleaned up and improved through DIF initiatives.
