Sister District is thrilled to invite you to the second annual District Captain Summit in San Francisco, which will bring together our volunteer leaders from around the country. We'll come together to celebrate our successes, learn from each other, and strategize for the year to come.

Last year, attendees came from as far away as Hawaii, Chicago, Vermont, and more. They left with more energy, more skills, and more connections to each other. This year, we'll have seasoned District Captains with two cycles under their belts, and much wisdom to share. We'll also have a cohort of new leaders with fresh perspectives and ideas. We can't wait for you to join us!



REGISTRATION COST

Summit registration is $25 and a group dinner on Saturday night is $45. These fees help us defray the costs of hosting the event.

We want to make sure that everyone who wants to participate is able to. So if cost is an issue, please select the option to register without cost. There is also a place on the form for you to let us know if the cost of travel or lodging is an issue.

Generous volunteers have offered to help cover costs for those who wish to attend but are financially constrained. If you would like to offer a donation for this purpose, you may do so during the registration process. If you would like to make a donation offline, please contact us at support@sisterdistrict.com.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONS

Basic Geography. As you think about where to stay, here are some basics: The summit will be held at Manny's, a new civic engagement space in the Mission District in San Francisco, one block from the 16th St. BART station. This is a reasonable commute via public transportation (BART) from the East Bay (incl. Berkeley, Oakland). Folks will also be commuting from the Peninsula (e.g., Palo Alto) and the South Bay (e.g., San Jose). If you have a choice, stay in San Francisco proper. But if not, others will likely be traveling with you too!

Flights. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the most convenient for those staying in San Francisco proper, and for getting to the summit venue quickly. Oakland International Airport (OAK) is the most convenient if you are staying in the East Bay. We don't recommend flying into San Jose (SJC) unless you are staying in the South Bay.

Staying with Friends and Family. Many attendees will be staying with friends and family who live in the Bay Area. We'll also be coordinating with local Sister District volunteers who have generously offered to host out-of-town guests at their homes. If you are interested in staying with a Sister District volunteer, please just let us know in the registration form and we will get back to you to confirm details.

Hotel block -- DEADLINE JAN. 9. If you would like to stay in a hotel, we've secured a block of rooms at Hotel Zelos in Downtown SF near Powell St. BART, stops away from the venue. Please use this link to book, or call Cassie at 415-344-3319 and ask for the “Sister District Summit” block. Please note this block expires on Wednesday, January 9.

Other Options. Airbnb.com and VRBO.com often have good options as well. Again, we want everyone who would like to attend to be able to, so please reach out if cost is an issue.
