Retain and Grow for Success in today’s challenging environment - James Ferrer, DTM
About the workshop: Officers encounter a weighty load in managing club membership growth, specifically, the challenge of acquisition v. retention. Handled improperly, it retards growth and development. This presentation offers practical and easily transferrable retention and recruitment techniques to become a successful club. You will unlock the secrets of “happiness” in the management of clubs.
About the facilitator: James Ferrer, former District 4 Pathway Guide, Chair-Extension of District 4 Club Growth Director, completed his distinguished toastmasters designation (DTM) three times, achieved President’s citation as Area Director and Division Director, sponsored a new TM club, holds a JD and MBA degrees and is a graduate of Advanced Management and Agency Management Programs from Stanford and Wharton School of Business. He also obtained his Leadership, Management and Business Communication Certificates from American Management Association. Currently, he is actively working on his fourth DTM designation, coaches Epicurean and Toasters Digest Clubs, serves as VP-Membership for Crownmasters Club / VP-Education for Epicurean Club and is the President of Ferrer Insurance Services, Inc., Equinox Premium Acceptance, Inc., and SF Independent Insurance Agents Association.
Show Up Consistently! A Time-Saving Social Media Strategy for Your Brand - Brittany Miller
About the workshop: Whether you are a business or personal brand, social media is a great tool to help you foster a community and build connections with others online.
If you feel like you are spending more time than you'd like on social media, it could be because you don't have a good strategy or system for creating and scheduling content. Brittany will be sharing a few simple steps that can help save you time while building your connections, presence, and network online. Note: We will primarily focus on Instagram and LinkedIn; however, the tips shared can be applied to other platforms.
About the facilitator: Brittany Miller is the owner of a boutique social media management agency for online business coaches called Brittany Miller Biz. She is also a social media consultant hired by small businesses to help their teams learn how to implement an effective social strategy. Her goal is to help others feel empowered, confident and excited to show up on social media without spending all their time on their devices. Connect with Brittany on Instagram @BrittanyMiller.biz.
Stop Zoom Fatigue Now: Creating Fun From Dysfunctional Meetings - Ray Engan
About the workshop: We are going to talk about specific tips, tricks and techniques to keep your meetings more impactful, memorable, and mirth-making. It is my pleasure to help you create meetings that are Ray-mazing and Ray-Markable.
Anyone attending can download my Zoom fatigue tips at www.StopZoomFatigueNow.com
About the facilitator: Ray Engan was a shy little boy who avoided talking to strangers by walking inside the safety of his Mom’s wrap around skirts. He went on to a career in stand-up comedy, performing with and writing for some of America's best comedians. He began using the skill of connecting through comedy in the business world and became the sales manager of America’s most award winning small business.
Ray has testified before a presidential task force, and appeared on MSNBC, as a Voice of small business in America.
Before Covid, he gave workshops around the country teaching America's business leaders how to create better, happier, more productive workers through humorous storytelling in the workplace, with his program, Leadership Through Laughter. Today he spends part of his day screaming, “Jimmy…..Unmute yourself.!!”
Actually he doesn’t…… There is a better way to do it than that.
He has shifted his focus to making the zoom experience more fun for working professionals, and specifically to create more interesting Toastmasters meetings to help retain AND drive members to your club.
He is going to make sure everyone walks away with many different and interesting Zoom Fatigue busting and comedy creating tips. If you miss anything you can always grab at least 15 different Zoom tricks, tools and techniques at StopZoomfatigueNow.com
Ray Engan is an award winning motivational speaker, coach and storyteller. He is the Inventor of The Humor Algorithm and current Chief Charisma Officer of Leadership Through Laughterwww.leadershipthroughlaughter.com
Achieving High Performance Leadership - Ken Cawley, DTM, PID
About Workshop: One of the most valuable development tools provided by the Toastmasters program is the HPL – High Performance Leadership. Unfortunately, it is often misunderstood and not used to its fullest. In this session led by Ken Cawley, Past District 4 Governor and Past International Director, you will learn the details and benefits of the HPL project and how it teaches you important leadership skills while leading an actual team. This popular workshop has been updated to address the revisions made to the HPL as a Pathways Level 5 project.
About Facilitator: Like many of us, Ken Cawley joined Toastmasters to improve his public speaking skills. What Ken hadn’t anticipated when he joined was the added benefit of leadership development the program provides. The leadership opportunities he experienced through Toastmasters have been life changing at both a personal and professional level. These opportunities included leading training organizations for different corporations such as Sony and serving within Toastmasters as District Governor, International Director and Pathway’s Chief Ambassador.
12:00 PM - Town Hall with Top 4 District Leaders
About the Town Hall: We are here to listen to your concerns as well as discuss what we learned at Mid-Year Training.
