Engaging Students Through Problem Solving- A Celebration
Goal: Participants will develop techniques for supporting students in writing and responding to the writing of others. Participants will share and celebrate their journey through the sessions.
Participants will continue to develop and strengthen their toolkits for supporting students as writers in math.
Participants will continue to develop and strengthen their toolkits for supporting their students to peer and self-assess written evidence of learning.
- Participants will share a portfolio of their work including three students that they had tracked throughout the sessions.
Structure: This session will have a whole group component and a celebratory/share fair component. Participants will have an opportunity to share artifacts with each other and support each other in learning from the experiences and artifacts shared.
Intended Audience: Principal designee-one per school- it is recommended that the same person attends all the sessions and be responsible for leveraging the content and experiences of the sessions to build capacity within the school. This person should ideally be a coach, or instructional lead and should work with the professional development committee.
Shared Learning: Participants are expected to maintain a folder/binder of related resources and artifacts.
