Join us to learn more about the application of power distribution transformers for utility transmission and distribution, smart grid, and industrial/commercial applications. This seminar will be technically-oriented to benefit those that desire an in-depth update on key distribution transformers application subjects.

Transformer training is crucial since they are the key link in any power distribution system and likely the least understood. More than 50 million electrical distribution transformers are located on utility poles and cement pads across the United States and Canada. Electrical Transformers serve the crucial function of transforming voltage potential to higher or lower values to meet the appliances and machinery voltage level requirements. Improper use, maintenance, and neglect can cause heavy losses to businesses as well as to the environment. With an understanding of the construction and maintenance of transformers, you will be able to make informed decisions about the performance and operation of this costly piece of equipment. This transformer training course provides a comprehensive overview of electrical transformers found in the industry.

The training is targeted to those involved in the engineering, installation, and maintenance of electrical power systems. The course is a fundamental course covering basic transformers theory, design, various applications, construction, maintenance, and testing. Our instruction will provide the greatest possible exposure to transformer design and maintenance that can be achieved in three days. Anyone who works on or near power generation, transmission, or distribution systems should attend this course.

The seminar cost is $400.00 USD for each attendee, payable by credit card at the time of registration.

You may attend all tracks or just the ones you are interested - same registration price applies.

  • ABB will provide a complementary group lunch for each day of the event.
  • ABB will offer a complementary group dinner (RSVP) - Tuesday, November 6 at 7:00 pm. One (1) person per seminar attendee. Limited space only. Confirmation is required.
  • A Certificate of Completion will be provided to all attendees completing the seminar.
  • Space is limited so register as soon as possible. Availability is on a first come, first serve basis.
  • All travel and hotel expenses are the responsibility of each attendee.
