DISTRIBUTION 2017: What Are My Options?
With Jim Browne, Argot Pictures
Join us for a 2017 update on how to get your film in front of audiences if a traditional distributor isn't an option, or if you would rather do it yourself, or if you are considering working with a service provider. Jim Browne of Argot Pictures will walk us through the current state of the distribution business, from festival to theatrical, educational and VOD. He’ll discuss how services such as Gathr, Tugg, Quiver and Distribber work and how to get your film on platforms such as Amazon, iTunes, Google play, Vudu, etc.
Jim Browne has been programming, producing and distributing film projects in NY for over 25 years. Jim founded Argot Pictures in 2005, a distribution company specializing in hybrid-distribution strategies for documentaries and feature films. He was programmer for the Tribeca FF from 2006-10, and the N. American programmer for the Abu Dhabi Film Festival from 2010-14. He is a U.S consultant for the Shanghai International Film Festival. He is teaching a class titled Distribution for Filmmakers at the New School in the spring of 2017.
Argot Pictures is a distribution company that focuses on unique, independently produced, high-quality documentaries and features. We work in partnership with filmmakers to garner the best possible exposure for your work. We can work from festival launch, to theatrical, VOD, educational and broadcast.
