Description

Jeff Stotts interest in horticultural practices throughout the Florida Keys has led to extensive research on Sandy Cornish, freed slave and civil war gardener. Cornish's garden, formerly located at the site of The Basilica of St Mary Star of the Sea, was regarded as the "the best fruit grove and garden on the island" enjoyed by malnourished soldiers and visited by dignitaries such as Salmon P. Chase.

Jeff Stotts is an environmental horticulturist and sustainable landscape development consultant. He has conducted research for the Universtiy of Florida on the revegetation and mitigation of coastal marine plants and butterfly pollination conservation throughout Monroe County. A Florida Master Gardener since 1992, Jeff currently consults on commercial & residential hydroponic projects and works as a nature guide.
