Distinguished Speaker Series: Historical Hurricane Season

About this Event

The 2020 hurricane season was one for the record books with 30 named storms and 12 landfalling storms in the continental United States – the most storms on record and the second highest number of hurricanes on record. There were so many storms we literally ran out of names!

Join our Distinguished Speaker Series program for an engaging discussion and Q&A session as Erik Salna, M.S., associate director of education and outreach, Extreme Events Institute (EEI) and International Hurricane Research Center (IHRC), Florida International University (FIU) shares the latest hurricane research conducted at IHRC including the Wall of Wind, capable of simulating a Category 5 hurricane.

SPACE IS LIMITED.

To learn how to prepare for hurricanes, watch the 2020 Eye of the Storm video series at mods.org/eyeofthestorm.

A unique Zoom link will be sent prior to the event.
