Act Like a Leader, Think Like a Leader

Herminia will lead an interactive session around her new book, Act Like a Leader, Think Like a Leader. We’ll explore how you can expand your impact by making small but crucial changes in your work roles, your networks, and your selves. The core idea is to act to increase your ‘out-sight’ – the valuable external perspective we gain, not by introspection and reflection, but with direct experimentation, new experiences and relationships. Out-sight alters how you invest your time, what relationships inform and support your leadership, and ultimately, who you become.

Please arrive at the School from 11.45am for a prompt 12:15 start.

Lunch arrangements:

On this occasion, you may bring food into the Lecture Theatre. Only a cold packed lunch will be permitted.

Herminia Ibarra is the Cora Chaired Professor of Leadership and Learning and Professor of Organizational Behavior at INSEAD. An expert on professional careers and leadership development, Ibarra's articles on these topics are published in leading journals. Her most recent book, Act Like a Leader, Think Like a Leader (Harvard Business School Press, 2015), explains how to step up to a bigger leadership role. At INSEAD, she directs The Leadership Transition, an executive program for managers moving into broader leadership roles. Ibarra speaks and consults internationally on leadership development, talent management and women’s careers. She is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Women's Empowerment and Chairs the Visiting Committee of the Harvard Business School. Thinkers 50 ranked Ibarra #9 among the most influential business thinkers in the world.
