Distinguished Speaker Seminar: Avi Goldfarb

The simple economics of Artificial Intelligence

Wednesday 30 May 2018, 17.45 - 18.45

Saïd Business School is pleased to welcome Avi Goldfarb, Ellison Professor of Marketing at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, to speak at the School on Wednesday 30 May as part of the Distinguished Speaker Seminar series.

About the talk

Simple economics suggest that when the cost of something falls, we do more of it. As Artificial Intelligence improves, prediction will become so good and so cheap that it will transform business and society. It is no longer a question of if AI will change what you do, but when.

Your decision to invest in AI depends on your thesis on when you expect prediction to get good enough to transform your organization. How imminent is the transformation and what will be the economic effect of it?

About the event

The seminar is open for anyone to attend and will take place at Saïd Business School from 17.45 followed by a drinks reception until 19.30. Registration is essential so please use the Register button above to confirm your attendance.
