Event description

Description

This 2-day training focuses on dissecting the impact of white culture, white privilege, and white fragility within urban education. The space is very intentionally set up to create a trusting and open environment via strong community building exercises, the use of restorative justice practices and somatic awareness activities. This allows us to dive deeper into challenging conversations, transformative self awareness and personal committments to deepening our work towards racial justice as educators in urban education. This interractive and dynamic training is open to all and STRONGLY encourages white educators to join.

Light Breakfast and snacks will be provided.

Both days will start at 10am and end at 4pm

The main facilitator, Kusum Crimmel, manages the Restorative Justice Program at Oakland Technical High School, is the creator and author of dissectingwhiteness.com and is a member of Facing In, a collective of Restorative Justice facilitators and educators. Other facilitators from Facing In will be woven into the workshop depending on content.
