“Higher Education Is Now Ground Zero For Disruption” – Forbes
Colleges are facing a perfect storm that could shutter hundreds of them and leave many more wondering how to survive. Yet much of higher education’s leadership is in denial that anything is amiss.
As the IT revolution has creatively destroyed numerous business models, it is now in the process of massively disrupting traditional education. From multi-sourced learning, MOOCs, online education, adaptive learning, informal learning assessment, universal learning records, and the proliferation of micro-credentials, higher education in particular is becoming unbundled in ways that will dramatically transform and threaten existing institutions.
This panel will explore emerging technology trends in both academic and corporate learning organizations and their social impact on the future of education.
George Tamas, President of IVL, will speak about the move toward credentialing and credentialing tracking in the military and in industry.
Amy Rouse is the Director of AT&T University and will speak on the provider/industry perspective.
