About this event
For Men Only: This is a Workgroup Meeting for Christian men who are leaders in the fight against sex trafficking and for men that want to learn more about what they can do. Our lead for this discussion is Joe Madison, the Executive Director for Demand Disruption which is a buyer-informed organization that fights the demand for trafficking by eliminating buyer motivation and reducing access to the exploited. (Please note, while this meeting is for men only, for any women who would like a video copy of the event, just register as all those who register get a copy of the event.)
Joe co-created the Law Enforcement Intervention Partnership (LEIP) which puts trained civilian volunteers on site at the moment of arrest to talk with would-be sex buyers about rehabilitation so that they never buy again. In addition, Joe co-developed the S.T.A.R. Program, a buyer-informed rehabilitation program designed to equip convicted sex-buyers with resources and accountability so that they never buy again. He also created & co-developed the illicit massage business deterrent program called "How To Shut Down A Brothel" to equip communities to shut down brothels & prevent them from opening again.
Joe is also a leader in the faith community having created and co-developed The Church Body Project, a program designed to equip the church to address the destructive impact pornography is having on families in our culture and engage the church in the fight against human trafficking.
Joe serves on several boards and task forces including but not limited to Governor Abbott’s Child Sex-Trafficking Team’s task force as a subject matter expert on demand-related components of sex trafficking. In association with the Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance, Joe founded the Demand Awareness & Reduction Team in 2020. This group of law enforcement, legal, education & intervention stakeholders is solely focused on combating the demand that fuels trafficking.
