Dismas House's 34th Annual Dinner with Keynote Speaker Chris Zorich
Event Information
About this Event
Our Annual Dinner will be held Tuesday April 21, 2020 in the Dahnke Ballroom on Notre Dame Campus. Event proceeds will support the on-going efforts of Dismas House in assisting our residents. As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, Dismas relies on donations, grants and fundraisers to continue our programs and services. Without your support, we cannot keep Dismas' mission of Reconciliation and Forgiveness alive! You can support us by purchasing an event sponsorship, program ad, providing a donation for our auction or in other ways.
This year, we are proud to announce that our Keynote Speaker is Chris Zorich. Chris was raised in the South Side of Chicago by his mother, Zora. Chris received a scholarship to Notre Dame where he received his undergraduate and Juris Doctor Degrees. Mr. Zorich earned All-American honors at Notre Dame during the 1988 season. He was drafted in the second round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, where he played until 1996. He was named an alternate for the 1993 Pro Bowl and he also played one season for the Washington Redskins. Chris is one of the youngest players ever to be inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame (2007). In 2009, Zorich was also inducted into the Federal Express Orange Bowl Hall of Fame. He established the Christopher Zorich Foundation in 1993 to assist disadvantaged families. His story about redemption embodies the Dismas Program.
We will also honor volunteers who play major roles in our organization’s success. The Jack Hickey Award, named after the Dismas House founder, is given to an individual or group that has given outstanding commitment and service to advance reconciliation and forgiveness. This year's Fr. Jack Hickey Award is The Life Treatment Centers. Sharon McBride of South Bend will be honored with the T. Brooks Brademas Life Time Achievement Award. Amber Werner will receive Community Spirit Awards for their continuous support of Dismas House and residents. Phil Bertoni of Sacred Heart will receive the Fred Crowe Mentor Award.
This year we will be hosting a VIP Cocktail & Autograph session from 5:30-6:30. Tickets, including hors d'oeuvres and dinner are $175.
