Event description

Description

Two sessions: Thursdays, May 17 and 24
7:30pm–9:00pm

Philip Roth’s 2004 novel The Plot Against America imagines a counterhistory in which Charles Lindbergh beats FDR in the 1940 presidential election. With that victory, the antisemitic Lindbergh changes the country’s direction, along with the fate of its Jews. We’ll read Roth’s book closely as an opportunity both to rethink our past and explore our current moment as well.
