The discussion board feature in Blackboard allows for asynchronous communication between students and faculty as either an extension of an in-class discussion, or as weekly discussions for an online class. This hour long session will be divided into two sections. The first section includes an overview, addresses strategies for designing questions to promote higher order thinking skills and improve student engagement, along with best practices on managing discussions. The second section will cover the application side of Blackboard’s discussion board feature, including discussion board creation, grading, rubrics, and data analysis.
Zoom login information will be sent to attendees 24 hours before the event.
Seating is limited, so sign up soon!
This course is open to faculty, teaching assistants and anyone who manages a Blackboard course.
