Hear What Miami Artists Have to Say About the Current Local Art Scene
The Dream Lab is bringing together three Miami artists for a one-of-a-kind panel discussion at The Wynwood Yard, moderated by The New Tropic. Enjoy drinks and food from The Bar at The Yard and the various food trucks located inside.
Artists GG, Marlon Preuss and Maximo Caminero wil discuss the art scene in Miami, art's role in our community, the inspiration behind their work and more.
GG, a Venezuelan-born, Miami-based artist has seen a rapid growth in success in recent years through collaborations with Airbnb and Adidas as well as murals all over the city. He is most recognized for his "Fado" cartoon, a recurring visual in his art.
Marlon Preuss is a young artist who is rising above the scene. His art can be seen inside Miami nightclub Basement, Lot 11 skatepark and on Beck's and University of Miami shirts. More recently, he was commissioned to cover a school bus in his illustrations for Miami's annual III Points festival. He has a clothing brand, Pruz, which features his illustrations and designs.
Maximo Caminero, is a Dominican born artist who made headlines in 2014 after smashing an Ai Wei Wei vase at the Perez Art Museum. The 54-year-old served 18-months probation, 100 community service hours and paid $10,000 in restitution. He has since apologized for the act and is back in the art scene with his new show titled "Migration of the Sign".
The Panel Discussion will be moderated by The New Tropic.
