Description

Discussing Race with our Children

November 13th, 7-9pm

Join Dr. Shannon O’Grady as we discuss the challenges of discussing race at home. She will also share her thought provoking letter, DEAR COLORBLIND WHITE FOLKS. Dr. O'Grady brings a unique perspective as her own blended family is comprised of what she calls “a series of divine explanations"; she has two White biological children and two adopted Haitian children. Dr. Shannon O’Grady is a dedicated educator and school administrator formerly with the NYC Department of Education and most recently in Peekskill.

The event is presented by C.U.R.E, The Coalition for Understanding Racism Through Education. The coalition is dedicated to bringing a deeper understanding of institutional racism and how it affects our American politics, ideologies, treatment of each other and daily existence as a caste system society. We are hyper focused on serving the Larchmont and Mamaroneck community however, we wholeheartedly welcome anyone who is willing to change their lens around creating equitable institutions for all.
