About this Event

Celebrate the History of Miami and the Women who Made it a Great City! The City of Miami is the only major US city which was founded by a woman- Julia Tuttle. Orchestra Miami celebrates this unique history and the contributions of its women with a concert of music composed by women, performed in the historic First Miami Presbyterian Church, home to Miami's oldest congregation!

Guest soloist Asiya Korepanova performs the stunning Piano Concerto in C # Major, Op. 45 by Amy Beach. Also on the program is the Concert Overture N. 1 by Florence Price and the Symphony N. 1- Three Movements for Orchestra by Miami native and Gables High grad Ellen Taaffe Zwilich. The 54 musicians of Orchestra Miami will be led by Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi.

General Admission Tickets are $20- $50 (seniors discounts available) and reserved seats in rows A-D are available for $60, which includes a VIP reception with the artists after the performance. $5 tickets are available for college students with ID and children ages 3-17.Free parking is available on a first come, first serve basis in the on-site lot. Spillover parking is available at Brickell City center, located directly across the street from the church.
