Event description

Description

Hanoi's food is the centerpiece of Hanoian culture. Hanoi's cuisine is best known for its delicate tastes and intricate styles of cooking. Compared to other Southeast Asian regions, Hanoi's cooking styles are very different. Overall Northern Vietnamese dishes are less spicy, sweet and salty than those of other SE Asian countries but regardless they are equally amazing. Visitors to Hanoi can choose between upscale restaurants or popular street food joints which are easily found all around the city and are suitable for any budget. Tours start any time, as long as it's not too late! Besides exploring food and beverage spots, you can take a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake or the Old Quarter to do some sightseeing with your tour guide - snacks around these popular spots are delicious and definitely worth trying! When you have had your fill you can rest up at one of Hanoi's many retro cafes, full of nostalgic Vietnamese vibes. And there you have it! You have completed a full day of great cuisine and gained further insights about Hanoian culture.

Sample Itinerary

Below is a sample itinerary that we have created for you to reference for a few ideas when creating your own. Creating your own itinerary really depends on your preferences and the local insiders’ recommendations, meaning you can personalise the trip 100%.

A 4-hour Hanoi food tour starts in the evening:

  • Have dinner at a bun cha restaurant
  • Walk around Old Quarter to discover Hanoi nightlife. If you go on weekend nights, it has a night market that sells almost anything from clothing, accessory, home decor to hand-crafted products
  • Try street food such as grilled pork, spicy bread, fruit, etc in the Old Quarter
  • Have a cup of egg coffee in Giang cafe
  • If it's not too late, take a small bowl of che - a vietnamese dessert as a late-night snack.

During the trip, talk to your local insiders and get travel tips from them. It will surely help when planning for your trip!
