Event Information
Description
(Please note that this event is for non-Girl Scout members/prospective families.)
Are you thinking about expanding her world outside of school? As a Girl Scout, she will try new things, make friends, grow in confidence, and build skills that will help in school and beyond. The best part? You'll get to join the fun right alongside her as she plays, learns, and grows. It's all waiting for her at Girl Scouts.
Join us for a free, informational Girl Scout session. We’ll try a hands-on Girl Scout engineering activity, learn more about what Girl Scouts do, and explore opportunities to join. Girls who are interested but not quite ready to join will be invited to join a free, virtual Try-it Troop! Try-it Troops are staff-led troops for non-members to get an introduction to Girl Scouts before joining.
Virtual Event Activity: Think Like an Engineer – Junk Drawer Challenge
During this virtual activity, all she needs is her imagination and some items commonly found in a junk drawer or around your home. Work with your girl to complete engineering challenges using things like cereal boxes, pens, and tape. More supply ideas can be found at: gsrv.gs/2zy4QQv. Gather some building materials, help her navigate challenges, and watch the gears start turning.
Once registered, you’ll receive a link to the Zoom meeting.
We recognize families are facing unique challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. Girls and families need the support, consistency, and community Girl Scouts River Valleys can provide, now more than ever. Check out the Girl Scouts at Home webpage for additional resources and information on supporting girls.
