Description

CALLING ALL UDEL FACULTY AND STAFF!

Join us for an introduction to the rich resources of the Wilmington community and how YOU can engage.

Building on the successful 2017 tour that took faculty and staff to Wilmington and Dover, this year we will focus on community organizations in Wilmington. Our goal is to introduce you to the rich resources of Wilmington. This is also an opportunity to meet and spend a day with other UD faculty and staff. Be prepared for a walking tour, as we may have walk three or four blocks. Lunch will be provided at the UD Creamery. Parking is available at the Double Tree Hotel. A photo scavenger hunt, led by Professor Jon Cox, will allow all participants to gain new photography skills as they capture the highlights of the day.

The tour is limited to the first 30 participants to register. The tour planners will make every attempt to include visits that are in line with the research/creative activities, teaching and/or service goals of the participants. Please register no later than May 25, 2018.

The tour will include the following visits:

  • Community Services Building (Meeting with representatives from a few of the 70 non-profit organizations with offices in the building)

  • Delaware Historical Society Museum

  • Rodney Square (discussion of the 1968 military occupation)

  • Creative Vision Factory

  • UD Creamery
