About this event
On Saturday, March 26, we cordially invite you to a traditional silent retreat entitled "Discernment: Praying with Jesus Through His Passion." Jesus' burning plea from prayer Psalm 22: "My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?” Because in the midst of abandonment and powerlessness, Christ accomplished the will of the Father, discernment in the Christian life is also rooted in this obedient cry. Dr. Anthony Lilles will unfold this theme to invite retreatants into a deeper silence as we approach Holy Week.
The day is only $45.00 which includes continental breakfast, a simple lunch, Holy Mass at 4 p.m., and quiet time for reflection. We gather at 8:30 a.m., first conference is at 9am, Holy Mass at 4pm, and conclude at 5 pm.
This is the final of three day long silent retreats leading to a 5 Night Silent Retreat May 1-7. Registration for May is also available on the website vallombrosa.org/calendar. You do not have had to attend any of the three day rerteats to attend the 5 Day retreat.

About the organizer
Vallombrosa Center in Menlo Park is located on a ten-acre site that was originally the home of E.W. Hopkins, the nephew of Mark Hopkins. The Hopkins home, known as the Old Mansion, was built during the Civil War period. Originally a simple wooden structure, it was later expanded and decorated with its distinctive Italianate touches.
The Vallombrosa Center is an ideal location for groups seeking a quiet and serene setting, with its beautiful grounds, comfortable accommodations, and friendly, helpful staff. It is also a gathering place for friends and neighbors to rest, to worship, to learn and grow.
