Event description

Description

The psychological footprint of a disaster is much greater than the medical impact. Many MRC units do not have enough members who are trained and equipped to take on the behavioral role of Disaster Team Leader. With a greater number of trained Disaster Team Leaders, it is believed that both the efficacy and number of deployed team during a disaster would increase. With enhanced volunteer mental health response communities would experience greater resiliency and stronger post disaster recovery.

RECEIVE TRAINING IN
• HOW TO PSYCHOLOGICALLY SCREEN AND BRIEF VOLUNTEERS PRIOR TO & AFTER DEPLOYMENT
• ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES TO PROMOTE VOLUNTEER RESILIENCE
• LEGAL & ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITES
• THE ROLE OF & INTERFACE WITH OTHER GOVERNMENTAL & NON-GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES ACTIVE IN DISASTER
