Description

DISABILITY Awareness 101: Understanding and respecting each other. Creating welcoming, inclusive communities.

This introductory session is meant for anyone who wants to know more about the disability community from disabled advocates themselves in order to be a better ally and advocate.

Doors open at 1:30 pm. Program will begin promptly at 2 pm.

Disability culture and etiquette
Creating a welcoming community on campus and career perspectives
First person stories about living with mobility, hearing, vision and mental health disabilities and autism

Donations to help pay for meeting space and services are appreciated. The Church accepts donations to their food pantry as well as sports magazines, paperback books of mysteries, adventure, etc, and small games that help soldiers away from home pass the free time. All items can be placed in the basket in the Narthex.


Complimentary childcare is available. Facility is wheelchair accessible with accessible parking. ASL interpreter will be provided. Event will be recorded for those who cannot attend in person.
