Event Details

Join us March 4th, 5th and 6th for a weekend of camping, running, and ultimate dirtbaggery. This is not a race. There is no chip timing or course markings. This is a camp and run. There will be live music, games, a competitive scavenger hunt, mountain run challenge, raffle of some pretty awesome gear, People Who Run: Photo Essay by Luis Escobar, LUNA Sandals booth, BBQ and much more. We invite you to take an adventure out to Reyes Creek, a small mountain town tucked away in the backcountry of Ojai, California, and spend a weekend being a complete and total dirtbag. Showers are not included.

To sum it all up, your registration buys you: a weekend of camping, a meal ticket for a BBQ on Saturday night (Vegan / Vegetarian options available - please shoot us an email if you have specific dietary restrictions), a Limited Edition Dirtbag Runners Patagonia Longsleeve Shirt, DBR Amulet made by Tracy Thomas of Marvelous Mud, DBR / Luna Sandals Stainless Steel Pint Cup, & a Limited Edition Dirtbag Runners Drop Bag.

For those of you who want to get their run on, we will offer two challenges: on Saturday, an Uphill Peak Bagging Challenge (around 17 miles), and on Sunday, a Scavenger Hunt (out-and-back, distance your choice) – both will have prizes for the top finishers. We will give you maps for the two trails and further details on each run challenge during packet pick-up. We will have chips, soda, gels, chocolate chip cookies donated by Skratch Labs and Salt Stick avaliable at the camp start & finish. There will be NO course markings OR aid on the trails. If you do not feel comfortable navigating yourself using a map, please make sure to run with someone who does. Due to weather, some of the trail may or may not be fully-established. You will need to carry water and nutrition with you during this run. There may be some bush-whacking. Bring pants. And some bandaids. This is backcountry wilderness during the off-season that is rarely maintained, so use common sense when out on the trails. The mountains are incredibly beautiful but equally unforgiving.

Although we are not hosting the beer mile, some have said there is one taking place on Saturday after the scavenger hunt. We think this is pretty cool, and will be giving a special prize to the best costume we see during the beer mile.

For $1 per ticket, you can enter as many times as you want into a raffle for some really rad gear, including, but not limited to: Dirtbag Runners Fleece Patagonia Pull-Over ($100 value), Various DBR items, Rumpl Blanket ($150 value), Solar Shower, Luna Sandals, Sawyer Mini-Filter, Coffee, Skratch Labs Nutrition, Sunski Sunglasses and many more. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Los Padres National Forest Trail Restoration Non-Profit.

On Friday night, we want to have a giant potluck. Please bring any food item or dessert of your choice to share.

On Saturday afternoon at 4:00PM, there will be a BBQ dinner, which is included in your ticket. Your dinner will come with three large sides. There are vegetarian and vegan options available. Please contact us if you have specific dietary restrictions.

Play a musical instrument? Now is your chance for the ultimate jam session. Bring your instrument (or all of them) and some print-outs of your favorite song chords.

We are lucky to have Luis Escobar join us for a weekend of dirtbaggery in the mountains. He will present "People Who Run: A Photo Essay" on Friday at 4:00PM.

Want to buy a pair of Luna Sandals? You will be able to try them on, find a perfect pair and test them out on some beautiful trails. Luna is also donating a pair of sandals to the raffle!
