Training Purpose:

The GFSC is understood to be about to release the AML / CFT Handbook. There are a significant number of changes businesses need to be aware of and to respond to. This session will discuss the changes directors need to be aware of to ensure their businesses remain compliant to the latest handbook updates.


Course Content:

  • Identify the key changes to the AML/CFT Handbook
  • Inform Directors of the response required by businesses to ensure compliance
  • Clarify areas where there is potential for confusion
  • Consider the updates in terms of Directors responsibilities; identifying existing policies and procedures to be updated and new ones to be developed.
  • What questions you need to be asking to ensure effective ongoing AML/CFT monitoring, from a board perspective

Trainer:

Paula Williams (MBA, Dip Tertiary Tchg) is the Managing Director of Island Consortium Training in Guernsey, a non-executive director for the Channel Islands Co-operative Society and Chair for the Bailiwick of Guernsey Scout Association. As a trainer, Paula has successfully implemented business transformation initiatives and numerous change training programmes including FATCA, Global Standards and GDPR in Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man.

Co-Author:

Charles Freeman specialises in corporate governance, risk management and compliance. He is a Chartered Secretary by profession and has worked in the fiduciary industry for 25 years. He is the current Chairman of the Guernsey Association of Compliance Officers and a member of the Guernsey Branch Committee of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (as well as its Technical and Conference sub-committees).
