Event description

Description

This event is for social workers and their managers.

On World Social Work Day 2018, what better way can West Sussex County Council celebrate the work that children’s practitioners do than to invite you to a conference where we can explore direct work with children?

Professor Ray Jones is our guest speaker for the event on the Tuesday 20 March at South Lodge, Horsham, West Sussex, RH13 6PS.

The event will open with his keynote speech ‘Scanning the Horizon: Hopes and Fears for the Future of Children's Social Services and Social Work.’

There will then be two workshops held in the afternoon, which will run twice to ensure all can attend both:

  • Identifying and share what makes for good child protection practice and how to practice well when busy and under pressure - Professor Ray Jones.

  • Pick ‘n’ Mix: Tools and techniques for direct work with children - West Sussex County Council

There will be opportunities to speak to West Sussex Social Workers and find out about the great work we are doing to improve the lives of the children and families we work with.

There will be tea and coffee on arrival 9.00am for a 9.30am start with a break for lunch and afternoon tea, the event will draw to a close at 4.00pm.
